I was intrigued by the script of 'Blindsided' through its ability to tell an emotive story with limited dialogue.

Storyboard

Planning was essential for this script as it involved a variety of morning, day, afternoon, evening and night shots that interchanged throughout the script. It was imperative that we anticipated the changes in sun direction, lighting and camera positions to ensure an efficient shoot. Each room was colour coded and labelled with designated light positions.

The pre-visualisation storyboard played a prominent role in the time efficiency and organisation of the shoot. Allowing time between the director and myself to map out and configure camera positioning and angles prior to the shoot worked effectively. This pre-planning allowed us to have an efficient filming flow and productivity as we were able to anticipate and problem solve issues that arose on the days of filming
